Katie Ebner-Landy is the Artistic Director of Les3chambres.
She co-founded the company in Paris in 2018 after having worked as a Dramaturg for Tim Supple for five years. Her work with Tim took her all around the world: first to investigate the world’s theatre traditions through multilingual Shakespeare for the King Lear World Theatre Workshops (2014-2017), and most recently to work on The Tempest at Beijing’s National Centre for Performing Arts, in association with the Royal Shakespeare Company.
As a writer and adapter, she has worked on Freedom on the Tyne (2017), an immersive work of mass-participation in Newcastle, for which she adapted four narratives of civil rights battles, and Monterverdi's Il ritorno d’Ulisse in patria (Grange Festival of Opera 2017). For Dash Arts, she is working on a new play: Imagining Europe, to be directed by Tim Supple.
Katie was educated at Oxford and Columbia. She is currently a Sélection Internationale fellow in Political Philosophy at the École Normale Supérieure and is doing a PhD in Political Thought at Queen Mary. Her research, supervised by Quentin Skinner, focuses on the relationship between moral character and literary character in the early modern period.
